Voie Bleue and ViaRhôna

 Serge Chapuis

The banks of the Rhône between Châteaubourg to the north and Saint-Georges-les-Bains to the south, offer pleasant and easy-access rides for all forms of non-motorised transport, and bikes in particular.

From the Voie Bleue to the ViaRhôna, bike aficionados are in for a treat!

From the Voie Bleue

Along the northern banks of the Rhône, the Voie Bleue hugs the river for 12 kilometres, between Châteaubourg and Guilherand-Granges.

A perfect, tranquil setting for a family ride, this plane tree-bordered path is popular among joggers, cyclists and fishermen, who come to make use of its benches, picnic tables, playground equipment, gym apparatus, pontoons and other amenities.
The Voie Bleue is easily accessible from the park-and-ride facilities located close to the route.

It connects the ViaRhôna to Soyons, and the discovery continues all the way to Charmes-sur-Rhône, Saint-Georges-les-Bains and eventually…the Mediterranean Sea!

... to the ViaRhôna cycle route from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean coast

815 km through Alpine scenery, all the way to Camargue’s beaches; journeying through the emblematic Côtes du Rhône and southern Provence landscapes.

Heading southwards in Rhône Crussol, cycle along the river and discover the Rhône’s natural lônes (secondary channels) between Soyons and Saint-Georges-les-Bains.

The environment sometimes seems unreal, with picture-perfect nature all around, even though the hustle and bustle of the town is not so far away. The banks offer amazing landscapes, already reminiscent of the South of France.

To make your bike tour between Vienne and Avignon simpler, Mobilboard - Vallée du Rhône offers a range of services including luggage transport.
